On September 23 , 2005, the Internal Revenue Service began sending notices to tax payers in thirteen states that there may be a problem with their tax payments. Here is the scoop.

It seems one of the trucks carrying the payments was involved in a traffic accident and the payments were lost. The accident actually occurred in San Mateo, California and resulted in?wait, I have to stop laughing. Okay. Deep breathe. The tax documents were ?ejected into the bay? and can't be recovered! There must be a couple of great white sharks wondering what is going on.
The payments in question are estimated tax payments made by anyone to the San Francisco mail box for the IRS in the first few weeks of September. Yes, the IRS uses drop mail boxes like everyone else. How encouraging.
The little traffic snafu suffered by the IRS apparently wasn't so little. The service is reporting that as many as 30,000 estimated tax payments from individuals and businesses in 13 states may have been lost.
Who knew the IRS used monster trucks? Instead of ?Grave Digger? , the truck must have been called ?Every last penny you have Digger.?
Anyway, taxpayers located in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho , Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, Virginia , Washington and Wyoming may have seen there tax payments deep sixed. In a particularly cheeky announcement, the IRS wishes to assure taxpayers that it will help make sure the tax snafu is fixed up.

If you think you might be a victim of the IRS traffic accident, just check any estimated tax payments made to see if processing occurred. If all else fails, rest assured the IRS will let you know if there is a problem.
While the above article may seem like a bad Saturday Night Live skit, it is real. I can't wait to see the next notice from the IRS about an agent's dog eating 50,000 or so tax returns.

Here is the way it went for me. I found out my husband and I have been going to have a baby. Hurray! I donned my paint clothes and set to work painting, sewing, designing. If while you assume, “Make Over” , you think… getting out the paint brush, hours of laborious work, a number of money… Effectively, lets simply say, there’s a better method! This “higher approach” is known as youngsters decals! Possibly you’ve got heard of them as wall stickers or wall appliques or vinyl stickers. They’re really all the same type of thing. Wall decor decals are nothing short of miraculous!

I?ll be the first to admit that I hated my job. It took many years for me to come to this realization since I kept accepting promotions in the hopes that the awful ache inside of my chest would
go away. This ache was not a medical condition ? it was me longing to have a career where I could be happy.
I tried to ignore these feelings but instead , the ache became more intense. I expressed to my friends that I was unhappy with my job as a pharmaceutical representative and they told me that I was crazy for wanting to leave such a well-paying job. I became frustrated because I realized that I was going to have to figure this one out on my own.
Now, I am in a career that I love. Ironically, I dedicate my life to
assisting others find their dream job. Here are a few tidbits that I teach my clients.
Consider journaling. In journaling, you are able to express your pent up frustrations that you may be feeling about your clients, co-workers or the organization for whom you work. You can also find hidden passions, desires and talents. The best way to journaling is to ask yourself a series of questions. For example , ?How did I end up in a profession that I dislike?? and ?What is keeping me in my job??
Too often, people end up in a career that they dislike because they heard that it paid well or perhaps their parents encouraged them to pursue a financially ?safe? occupation such as accounting, law or medicine. In other cases, individuals decided to follow the
same profession as their parents. Some people say that they have too much debt or a lifestyle to maintain while others say that they just simply rely on their steady paycheck.
Another question for you to you ponder is, ?If I had one year to live and I could have any job, what would I do?? Many times, we already know the answer to this question. However, we tend to ignore our passions and dreams because we put limitations on ourselves. We
think things like, ?I won?t get paid as much? or ?It will take me forever to begin my own business.?
After you have discovered your deepest dreams, make a list of the resources and skills that. |
